Outdoor Golf Driving Ranges in the GTA
Thanks to rising real estate prices, finding an outdoor golf driving range is getting more difficult every year. If you live within Toronto you will have to drive quite a bit or try one of the great indoor golf facilities in the GTA. The quality of outdoor golf driving ranges will vary with some providing great grass teeing areas, well maintained short game areas and nice putting greens. Toronto used to have a few more driving ranges. There was one at Dixie & Dundas, the PGA Golf Range on Keele just south of Lawrence, the Scarborough Family Golf Centre and the Beaches driving range on the east side. Unfortunately they are all gone. If you have a membership at one of the private courses in Toronto you will be fine, but otherwise the Docks is the only outdoor driving range left in Toronto.The Docks Driving Range
Although it has no grass tees, there are 75 hitting stations and is open all year long. Balls are now supplied by time on an unlimited basis. You have to hit balls into a parking lot, but at least you get to swing a club.Outdoor Golf Driving Range Vaughan, Thornhill, Richmond Hill, Markham
Richmond Hill Golf Club
In addition to the 18 hole golf course, there is a driving range with over 20 tees on an artificial tee line. Some tees have a covered canopy. The range operates sun up to sun down and includes a putting and chipping area.Within Range Thornhill
Convenient location as it is located right at the intersection of 404 and 407. Even with 145 hitting stations, grass and mats, it can get busy. There are electric towers in the sightlines, but they don’t interfere with your shots. Bunkers, chipping and putting is available.Carrickmacross Golf
Located at the north end of Vaughan and close to Hwy 400, this facility has a par 3 course and driving range. 44 grass tees with 340 yards of length and 6 target greens. Advanced golfers will appreciate the 30 yard goal posts about 290 yards out. Simulate hitting a tour fairway.Fairtree Golf Centre
This driving range is right across the street from Angus Glen. There are about 30 mats and 20 grass tees. Also at the facility is a small short game area with putting green and a sandtrap.Remington Parkview Golf and Country Club
There’s a short driving range that is part of the facility. You won’t be able to take out the driver and it’s primarily for warming up before a round, but there is also a bunker to try some fairway bunker shots. Located in Bruce’s Mill Conservation Park, it has 50 to 60 grass tee stations, putting and chipping. It’s a basic driving range that is close for those in Stouffville and Gormley.Bathurst Glen Golf Course

Pickering Playing Fields
A multi-purpose facility that includes a driving range with 17 artificial mats. There’s no short game area but it is over 300 yards so you can practice your full swings.
Salem Ridge Golf & Academy
Part of Deer Creek Golf Clubs, Salem Ridge has a 9 hole executive course, full service performance academy, driving range and short game area. It also has specifically made mounds for unlevel pitching and chipping practice.
Harmony Creek Golf Centre
On the east end of Oshawa, this facility has an 18 hole executive course and a 250 yard driving range with grass and artificial tees. It also has a mini putt course and junior camps for the family.
